  1. Excellent job. Pointing out how you have to get out and meet your readers and also do blogs is something I will be doing. I did not know that you can get book sales at schools or libraries. I will sign up your blog and thanks again.

  2. Charnaie, thank you for your insights and the invaluable information you’ve shared regarding blogging and what the expectations of book audiences are these days. Really appreciated your relaxed, easy-going manner and authenticity. Thanks!

  3. Charnaie,
I loved hearing about your “Happy Accident.” The biggest takeaway for me is getting yourself out there. If you don’t try, you’ll never know what is possible. Thank you for sharing your invaluable experience.

  4. “Charmaine Gordon shares invaluable information and tips how to boost your presence on social media, and your book sales during in-person author visits, and more.”

  5. Wow! I really liked this. Charnaie is beautiful to listen to, and I got some really great ideas about how to expand (by keeping it narrow) what I’m doing on social media. I also liked the idea of incorporating bulk book orders in the payment options for having me come out to talk and/or read.

  6. WOW! First time that I ever heard someone talk about school visit contracts and including the requirement of a guaranteed 50 book order before you will come out. That really ups the game. It makes us sound professional, businesslike and more worthy of our time. Before, we were always told to just ask permission if we could send order forms home with the kids prior to our visits, it made us sound very sheepish and bothersome to the facility. We need more speakers like Charnaie Gordon. Bring back Charnaie Gordon to show us how to “properly” do a school visit contract that has us getting the recognition, respect and compensation we deserve. I’m sure we will learn a lot.

  7. I’m currently not doing a children’s book but I found your talk most useful. THANKS. I hadn’t thought of promoting other people’s books in a blog or a substack and that’s a great idea.

  8. Lots of good information highlighting that your book is only half completed even though its published. There is more to do with promoting and getting the book out before the public. Thanks for reminding us that outreach connecting with the right people is vital – the worst thing that they can say is no.

  9. Thanks so much for the great information. Asking for a guarantee of 50 books is a wonderful idea. I will also check out Threads. Looking and searching for people on LinkedIn is a tip I will use.
