  1. Thank you Karen and Daniel, I really appreciate these insights. You can find so many examples of character interviews online and in books to help build your characters but I don’t think I’ve seen anywhere the character questions: ‘What keeps you up at night?’ Or ‘What do you dream of doing but don’t think you ever will?’ Such a fresh approach and excellent questions for almost any age character.

  2. Great job, DDW. Better then original. Interview questions stay on topic, boost your answers.

  3. Thank you Karen and Daniel.

Daniel has a very engaging manner, believable. He shared how other authors set up their worlds/plots. Explored what to do vs what not to. Look forward to learning more taking his Character-First free story course. Thoroughly enjoyed.

  4. Thank you for this excellent interview! Even though I am focusing on illustrated children’s books for the very young (3–7 yo), I found what Daniel had to share so helpful and motivating. It really got my gears ticking.

  5. Thank you. This was very informative and helpful for getting my thinking going even though I am currently working on a young children’s book. The characters are still very important even if there aren’t chapters to build their development. Well done!

  6. Daniel’s thoughts about the need to have readers connect with the character was important. I am not sure how to do that with a biographical-type of story. I’m currently working on stories of virtues exhibited in those who have gone before; lesser known characters.

  7. Hi Daniel, I’m hoping that you would be willing to send along the lessons in your character first class? I thought I had downloaded them but didn’t.
I would very much appreciate it if you would.
