Curious… Anyone look at some numbers in their writing lives and get shocked like I did???

    1. Christopher. That was good advice about understanding time usage and blocking it off for reading and writing. You mentioned you were given a contract to produce books. I know nothing about children’s books and their publishing. In general, who hires authors via contracts to write books?

      1. Hi Jeff, so glad you found it beneficial! Often traditional publishing houses and magazines will hire writers on a contract basis. If you have any writer’s conferences near you, I encourage you to attend some of those. I’ve had my biggest breaks through meeting face-to-face with editors and hearing what they need.

  2. Very informational for 30 minute timeframe. Surprised at how much time lost on recreational screentime. I was already familiar with the Pomodoro method (good technique). I look forward to implementing the 7 strategies; however, I was unable to unlock the Goal setting E-Book-unless that’s only for the customers who paid, which I understand.

    Good value.

    1. Hi Sylvia, that’s the way I like to start a conference: With a LOT of info!

You can download both all our ebooks for free. Go to the home page of writingmomentum.com and scroll to the bottom. Put in your name and email and it should immediately shoot you the ebook. If it doesn’t work, just send me an email at [email protected] and I’ll manually enter your info so you get it. –Chris

  3. This was great! I hadn’t heart of the name for the Pomodoro Technique, but I love it! As someone with a brain injury, I often follow the 20-20-20 rule…every 20 minutes, I look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This really helps my brain and eyes reset so I can keep going.
I was also reminded of this quote: If you never have the time, you will never have the time. Because time is not found, it’s created.

  4. Christopher, I appreciated how you addressed areas where we can find time, but also how that time adds up. I also thought of the need for accountability. We are all busy in different ways, and it is easy to allow the urgent overtake the more important. Thank you.

  5. I tried Pomodoro tecnique in my working hours today. Feeling very productive 🙂 Thank you for that advice.

  6. Thank you, Chris, for driving home these powerful truths about time. Lots of actionable information.

What is the name of second productivity technique you mentioned? I got the Pomodoro technique.

I was unable to unlock the bonus: 7 Proven Strategies to Getting Your Writing Done. It’s not in my email or spam folder. Will you email the link to me? Thank you.

    1. Dorie, so glad you found this beneficial!

The second technique we talked about was ACCOUNTABILITY. It’s so important! If you commit a goal to someone else…and if you put it on your calendar…studies show that your chance of successfully completing that goal raise to a whopping 95%! That’s what led us to creating co-writing time together in our membership.

For the ebook, check out the bottom of the home page at writingmomentum.com. You should be able to put your email in there and get the bonus ebook sent to you immediately. If it doesn’t work for some reason, email me at [email protected] and we’ll manually enter your info to be sure you get it.
