I was able to download the goal setting ebook but have tried 3 times for the poster and still have not received the email for this. But I have loved the presentation and it has made a lot of sense especially with the accountability which I do need myself.

Hi Carol, shoot me an email if the goal-setting ebook still didn’t come to you. I can just email it. Gotta love technology! 😛 Chris

Thanks for helping us see common blunders! It’s good to know what to look out for!

So glad you enjoyed it Katrina!

I took a lot of notes. Great advice. I didn’t find his list on his website but what I received today was awesome. Thank you.

    1. Christopher Maselli Avatar

Those notes will serve you well, Judy! The full list of blunders is in my Common Children’s Book Blunders training series–it’s at https://training.writingmomentum.com. But don’t feel compelled for an upsell. I included my favorites here.

I really enjoyed Chris’s common mistakes he found in children’s books. I liked it so much that I went on to view the video of Chris, Gena, and Rene about prepping for a Children’s writing conference. Rene offered lots of ideas to benefit you once you get there and Gena offered practical, and helpful tips to bring.

    1. Christopher Maselli Avatar

Yay! That’s a video we just shot. So glad it was helpful!

Unfortunately, the information on the upcoming writing conference (in their preparing for writer’s conference) or code didn’t come through. Victoria Smith

    1. Christopher Maselli Avatar

Hi Victoria, sorry about that. Shoot me an email if the code and list still didn’t come to you. I can just email it. Chris ([email protected])

    Thank you, Chris!
You neatly held up a mirror to some of my blunders when I started out. I appreciate how willing you are to share your wisdom.
    And thanks for the freebies!

Hi Bob, you bet! So glad you enjoyed it.

I’m going back over my book again to be sure I have fixed some of the blunders I know are there! I appreciated the one comment about let the character show and don’t ‘tell’. This was a great session!

    1. Christopher Maselli Avatar

That’s a HUGE one, too. See that all the time. Glad you enjoyed it!

This was great information. I totally agree that a person is probably not equally talented as a writer and illustrator. It is frustrating when researching agents, so many now only accept submissions from author/illustrators.

    1. Christopher Maselli Avatar

Totally get it; researching agents and even directly to publishing houses can be frustrating. But stick with it. I believe it’s it’s to be, it’ll be. Doors will open in just the right place.

The interview was excellent. I will be making sense of the notes I took. I took loads. I also tried to download the freebie ‘FREE Poster & Goal-setting ebook for authors’ but it went to your website. I could not see this resource on the website. There was a ton of other stuff. It takes time to go through all that. Any chance of sending it to my address below?

    1. Christopher Maselli Avatar

      Hi Annie,
I’ve got each of those items right on the front page of writingmomentum.com. Or if you want, just shoot me an email at [email protected] and I’ll send them to you.

Great interview! Why did it have to end so soon?! I want to hear the rest of the 48 blunders!

    1. Christopher Maselli Avatar

Ha! It went fast for me, too. Glad you enjoyed.

  12. Laura Lai Avatar

It was fun to discover that somebody, actually, made an inventory of our involuntary mistakes – it was like watching in a mirror and feeling blushing, particularly with the common beginnings, verb tense that may involuntary change during the writing, etc. But, I agree that Grammarly and ProWritingAid are great tools for text editing from the point of view of grammar and spelling, and they may get even more complex than that (e.g. ProWritingAid). I would have loved to hear about the rest of the common blunders, too. Anyway, congratulation on completing the reading … marathon of 1,000 manuscripts. I can believe that it was an honor. I’m familiar with the ‘Reader’s Digest’ and I love it, too.

    Thank you for the session!

    1. Christopher Maselli Avatar

You’re welcome! I’m so glad it helped.

Christopher Masseli has an excellent children’s book writing course as well, or had it anyway. I got mine a few years ago. He’s such a likeable teacher, and I see that his wife is a wealth of knowledge too. Her session was fab.

You’ve outdone yourself Karen with all the fabulous speakers this year.

    1. Christopher Maselli Avatar

Aw, you’re making me blush! I’m so glad you enjoyed it as well as our course. Yes, it’s at https://training.writingmomentum.com. You’re right–it’s been a GREAT conference!

Thanks for the writing blunder information. This was a great interview session. You are so genuine and I appreciate that. One thing I took away was the blunder of character thought jumping. Thanks for your advice.

That’s a good one, too! So glad you found it beneficial!

Thank you, Chris, for a practical and fun presentation. I have made my share of blunders and the writers’ groups I belong to often catch them. I am an enthusiastic advocate of accountability groups and have found Karen’s CBM Author Coaching groups invaluable. Is the wwwwritingmomentum.com group open to anyone browsing by?

I really enjoyed this interview. I’m a romance writer, but have always wanted to write a couple of MG books. The preachy thing really spoke to me! I see that in books I read to my children ALL the time! Thanks for the great content

Really good content and delivery, Christopher – thank you!
