I got a lot of understanding from this presentation regarding the differences between self publishing and using a traditional publisher and also what the pros and cons are for both. I thank you for this information.
Just as a FYI on the freebie PDF button every time I have tried to use it, I get an alert from my anti-virus which aborts it every time that it is a phishing URL. I have even tried to use google to just look up Orange Blossom Books and get the same warning and it is aborted before it will even load.

Hi, Carol. Just to let you know, I have downloaded Arielle’s very generous (57 pgs) and beautiful gift with no problem.
Thank you Arielle for an excellent presentation. A lot of very interesting and useful info.

I got the same messages about the security problem with the website being infected with phishing, so sadly was unable to see the freebie or the website.

I enjoyed this session even though I’m convinced that self-publishing is the way to go. You are in the driver seat! I liked listening to the rules to a Quary letter, finding 3-5 comparable books to yours, and her good information in the beginning to find your voice, does the first paragraph knock your socks off, pacing throughout the rest of the story, and is there a surprise no one is expecting. Lastly, I’m hearing more speakers talk about making connections with other writers to get feedback. That one, I need to work on more!

I enjoyed this session. I’m looking forward to taking a closer look at the tools document. Thanks!

Very informative and helpful. I’ve self-published two books and don’t really want to go that way again so really appreciated the many do’s and don’ts that Arielle gave. I missed the fourth rule of writing a query letter and kept hoping she’d say it again. I got the greeting, pitch, and bio. What was number four? Can anyone help me out, please.
-
I believe number 4 was “closing”, but I did not hear a description or specifics. She did say to Google query letter for examples.
-
The fourth was the closing and all four parts should fit one page.

My attempt to access the toptools bonus was met by a warnig label about the site from my Avast protection software.
Need to check out what is happening there

Dear summit & writer colleagues,
I have tried multiple times and on two different browsers to access Arielle’s bonus, but I keep receiving the message below. The same happens when I try to reach Orange Blossom Books. I see that I am not alone so there is clearly a problem,

Great session. The 20 Tool document is awesome!
Thank you so much. -
I am having the same problem accessing the material. My computer calls both the 20 Tools link as well as OrangeBlossomBooks.com a phishing site. But I really enjoyed Arielle’s presentation!

Thank you for the presentation and for the ‘Top 20 Marketing Tools’ document – fortunately, I could download it without any error-related problems. I fully agree with you that there are pros and cons on both traditional and self-publishing sides. But listening to your presentation – particularly, at that part when you mentioned that writers need to research similar authors, titles, etc. so that others know where ‘to put it on the shelf’- made me realize how hard it is for a writer who wants to try a less approachable genre or try to be extremely different in writing or topic choice, or whatever. It’s a kind of thing that doesn’t allow for new writing experiences. Oh well, I guess we still try without thinking about the shelf. 🙂
