A New Way to Learn With Me

The Kidlit Creator’s Chronicle Issue #45

Hi,

Today’s KidLit Creator’s Chronicle is a little different.

Because I’ve started something new…

I’ve launched a YouTube channel!

Over the years, many of you have told me that you love watching me explain things. You like seeing and hearing the step-by-step guidance, and having me walk you through it.

So I thought, why not make that available more regularly?

The first video on my new YouTube channel is a recorded edition of the first KidLit Creator’s Chronicle. It’s the same kind of practical, structured guidance you’re used to, just in video form. (With more to come very soon!)

You can watch it here.

If you’d enjoy listening while cooking dinner, folding laundry, going for a walk, or simply sitting with a cup of tea, this gives you another way to learn.

The Chronicle isn’t going anywhere. This is just an additional option.

On Substack, there are now 44 editions available (yay!), so it has grown into a proper library of guidance on writing, publishing, and marketing children’s books.

If you ever want to browse past topics, search for something specific, or revisit an article you remember reading, this makes it very easy to do so.

You can find all my Substack articles here.

To help you get started, here are a few popular articles, depending on where you are right now:

If you’re struggling to sit down and write:
→ How to Create a Writing Schedule That Works for You

If you have questions about illustrations:

If marketing feels confusing or overwhelming:

If you’re revising and unsure what to cut or tighten:
→ Less Is More: How Cutting Words Strengthens Your Picture Book

If you want clearer direction on launching:

Choose the one that speaks to your current challenge, and start there.

If you do watch the first YouTube video, I’d love for you to leave a comment and let me know what you’d like me to cover in future KidLit Creator’s Chronicle’s.

As always, keep writing! Even ten minutes makes a difference.
